On January 13, 2025, within the framework of cooperation between the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe (Republic of Austria), a webinar on the topic "Ukraine's path towards EU. Accession III: Future of EU enlargement" was held.

The lecturer was Sebastian Schaffer, Director of the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe. During the educational event, key issues related to the future enlargement of the European Union were considered, in particular the security of Europe, migration policy, the functioning of the single market, the Schengen Area, and the Eurozone, as well as countering climate change. Particular attention was paid to the concept of the European Political Community and scenarios for the gradual integration of new member states. The lecturer outlined Ukraine’s prospects in the context of its European integration movement, emphasizing the importance of institutional reforms. The webinar participants had the opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Ukraine on the path to EU membership.

Simultaneous translation of the webinar was supported by the EU Project Association4U, which made the event available to a wide range of participants.
