Ukraine–Moldova: A Joint Step Towards Strengthening Parliamentary Analytical Capacities

On 13–14 October 2025, a delegation of the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine undertook a study visit to the Republic of Moldova.
During meetings held in the Moldovan Parliament, Ukrainian representatives discussed with their counterparts from the Directorate for Parliamentary Research, the Secretariat of the Parliament, Members of Parliament, and government officials the role of parliamentary institutions in the European integration process, the harmonisation of legislation with EU law, and the development of analytical capacities within parliaments.
Lesia Vaolevska, Head of the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, expressed her appreciation to the Moldovan partners for their warm hospitality and open, constructive dialogue, and thanked the Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament, Igor Grosu, and the Secretary General of the Parliament, Igor Talmazan, for their continued support in fostering inter-parliamentary cooperation.
The visit also included meetings with Member of Parliament Oazu Nantoi, Co-Chair of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Ukraine, as well as with government representatives – Rodica Crudu, Deputy Secretary General for European Integration, and Natalia Suceveanu, Head of the Centre for the Harmonisation of Legislation with EU Law.
The Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine extends its sincere appreciation to the Hanns Seidel Foundation (offices in Chişinău and Kyiv) for its support in organising the visit and for its ongoing commitment to fostering inter-parliamentary dialogue and strengthening analytical capacities across the region.
