As part of the program to strengthen the capacity of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the area of macroeconomics and financial markets, Olha Kosytsia, Head of the Financial Policy and Budget Legislation Sector of the Economic Development and Financial Policy Department of the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, took part in a study visit to the European Parliament, held on May 14–15, 2024 in Brussels (Belgium).

During the thematic sessions, the issues of providing financial assistance to Ukraine, support to the national parliament by the parliamentary budget office (Italy's experience), expert support to the European Parliament for members of parliament and committees, the recovery and resilience mechanism (Ireland's experience), parliamentary oversight of budget and fiscal policy, parliamentary oversight of regulatory and reform programs, capacity development of the IMF and the World Bank, etc. were considered.

The program is aimed at strengthening democratic mechanisms of accountability and strengthening the function of parliamentary oversight and control in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
