Approximating Ukrainian legislation to EU law: practical aspects for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine

From May 27 to 29, 2025, the Research Service held a special short-term training program “Approximating Ukrainian Legislation to EU Law: Practical Aspects for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine” for Ukrainian MPs, employees of the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, assistant consultants to Ukrainian MPs, as well as representatives of state authorities, local self-government bodies and other legal entities and individuals (on a contractual basis).
The educational event is aimed at developing knowledge of: the EU legal system and integration acquis, the EU accession process, accession requirements and procedures; understanding and practical skills in adapting Ukrainian legislation to the EU acquis provisions, including drafting legislative and other regulatory acts targeted to adopting various types of EU law, impact assessment and compiling compliance tables; understanding and practical skills in analyzing draft laws for compliance with EU law.
The program was conducted by representatives of the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine: Viacheslav Shamrai, Doctor of Legal Sciences, associate professor, Deputy Head; Tetiana Syvak, Doctor of Public Administration, associate professor, Head of the Training Center; Anna Kondratova, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Head of the Department for Economic Development and Financial Policy; Tetiana Fedorenko, Candidate of Public Administration, Deputy Head of the Training Center; Natalia Bartosh, Chief Scientific Consultant of the Training Center.
