On 10 November 2025, the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in partnership with the EU Project Pravo-Justice, hosted an educational webinar titled “Implementation of Mutual Legal Assstance Agreements: Cooperation Instruments”.

The webinar featured presentations by Dariusz Drzał, International Expert of the EU Project Pravo-Justice; and Myroslava Krasnoborova, Liaison Prosecutor for Ukraine at Eurojust.

During the educational event, participants examined the main legal principles underpinning the implementation of mutual legal assistance agreements, as well as the organization and functioning of Joint Investigation Teams (JITs). The experts highlighted practical aspects of establishing such teams, coordinating investigative actions between states, and the key factors contributing to their effectiveness – from clearly defining objectives and aligning investigative strategies to ensuring effective cooperation between law enforcement authorities and the proper use of collected evidence.

Particular attention was devoted to Ukraine’s experience in international cooperation in criminal matters. The speakers presented the existing legal mechanisms, procedures, and examples of interaction between Ukrainian prosecutors and investigators and their counterparts from EU Member States, underscoring the importance of such frameworks in enhancing the effectiveness of cross-border crime investigations and strengthening international partnerships in the field of justice.

Simultaneous interpretation for the webinar was provided thanks to EU Project Pravo-Justice, which made the event accessible to a broader audience.
