Informational reference on the Draft Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine to Strengthen the Fight Against Corruption Committed by Officials Holding Responsible and Especially Responsible Positions" (No. 14269, dated 14.08.2025)

Abstract. The informational reference examines proposals regarding the institution of investigation in the context of the draft law (No. 14269, dated 14.08.2025), in particular, regarding the prohibition of entrusting the pre-trial investigation of a criminal offense initiated by a detective of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine or a prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office to other pre-trial investigation bodies, as well as regarding the assignment of certain offenses to the investigation of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. The regulatory proposals were examined for feasibility and consistency with current legislation. Certain risks that may hinder the achievement of the goal of the draft law are indicated.
