Abstract. The parliamentary study examines the legal nature of framework peace agreements in the context of international experience in the peaceful settlement of 10 armed conflicts of the 20th and 21st centuries. It analyzes the parties to such agreements, their legal nature and content, their incorporation into national legislation, and their impact on state sovereignty.

The study concludes that peace agreements do not follow a universal model and that the conclusion of a peace agreement typically entails the restoration of internationally recognized borders, the withdrawal of foreign troops, and the reaffirmation of the state sovereignty.

Key words: peaceful settlement, framework agreement, armed conflict, security guarantors, legal nature, sovereignty.
