Abstract. This analytical note presents the results of an analysis of legislation in various countries concerning lobbying activities. It focuses on the professional training and education of lobbyists; requirements for educational programmes in the field of lobbying; ethical standards in lobbying; and the taxation of lobbying activities. The paper also examines the specific features of introducing relevant restrictions on lobbying activities for retired civil servants.
