On November 19, 2025, the Research Service conducted training under a special short-term professional development program entitled “The Institute of Parliamentary Immunity in Ukraine and European Union Countries” for members of the Ukrainian Parliament, their assistants and advisors, employees of the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as well as representatives of state authorities, local self-government bodies, other legal entities and individuals (on a contractual basis).

The purpose of the educational event was to increase awareness of the parliamentary immunity institution, the legal basis and specifics of its implementation and functioning in Ukraine and EU member states; to familiarize participants with the risks and problems of applying legislation on parliamentary immunity in law enforcement and ways to solve them; as well as to develop practical skills in legislative work and drafting relevant bills.

The training was conducted by Oleksiy Geselev, Head of the Legislative Support for State Policy in the Field of National Security Sector of the National Security and Law Enforcement Department of the Research Service, Candidate of Legal Sciences.
