On October 13, an online meeting was held between the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Parliamentary Institute of the Chancellery of the National Council of the Slovak Republic.

Participants discussed the organization of work within parliamentary research institutions, approaches to drafting analytical materials and ensuring their quality, as well as opportunities for further bilateral cooperation.

In particular, the discussion focused on:

·      allocation of work areas among structural units, approaches to involving external experts, and professional development of staff;

·     internal procedures for drafting and reviewing materials, research methodology, and priority setting;

·      formats and types of information and analytical products that assist lawmakers in making well-informed and quality decisions;

·        sharing best practices, identifying joint initiatives, and outlining next steps to deepen interparliamentary cooperation.

Systematic exchange of experience with research institutions of European parliaments contributes to the continuous enhancement of the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and elevates the quality of analytical support for the legislative process.

We sincerely thank our Slovak colleagues for their openness, insightful dialogue, and readiness for active collaboration.

Special appreciation is extended to the Hanns Seidel Foundation Office in Ukraine for their technical support in organizing this meeting.
