The team of the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine held the first online introductory meeting with representatives of the Research Department for International Law and Economic Development and the Research Department for European Affairs of the Directorate of Research Services of the German Bundestag.

During the meeting, the Ukrainian side presented the main activities of the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and discussed with German colleagues the practice of organizing analytical and information support for parliamentary activities.

The participants exchanged experience in the following areas:

- tasks, principles and organizational structure of parliamentary research services;

- types of materials and publications prepared for the needs of the MPs;

- support for MPs and parliamentary committees in their research activities;

- professional training for MPs, their assistants and secretariat staff;

- methodological approaches used in the preparation of research;

- prospects and formats for further cooperation.

This meeting was an important step in establishing an inter-institutional dialogue and launching further professional exchange with the Research Units of the German Bundestag.
