The Research Service, with the support of the YurFem Ukrainian Women Lawyers Association NGO, conducted a special short-term training program “Peculiarities of Conducting Gender Legal Expertise of Draft Laws in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine” for employees of the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ukrainian MPs and their assistant-consultants.
The educational event was aimed at increasing the professional competence level of the participants of the training on the following issues: conducting draft law gender legal expertise in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, developing skills and abilities to conduct such expertise in compliance with international norms, standards and obligations of Ukraine in gender equality in accordance with international legal documents.
The training was conducted by: Kateryna Shunevych, the Head of the YurFem Analytical Center, lawyer, PhD in Law, Assistant Professor of the Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics of the Law Faculty of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv; Daria Rosokhata, a lawyer-analyst at the YurFem Analytical Center; Yaryna Bushchak, a lawyer-analyst at the YurFem Analytical Center; Olena Ohonovska, a lawyer, communications and partnership development specialist at the YurFem Communications Department.
