In order to study and agree on specific areas for future support to improve the legislative process in Ukraine, Alla Orzhakhovska, Head of the Humanitarian and Social Policy Sector of the Research Service, as part of a delegation of employees of the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, took part in an interactive seminar on democratic lawmaking, held in Warsaw (Republic of Poland).

The participants of the seminar were presented with the "Guide to Democratic Legislation for the Improvement of Legislation" issued by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights in 2024.

During the interactive seminar, leading experts from different European countries spoke about the key principles of democratic lawmaking, in particular about post-legislative control, gender expertise as an integral part of the cross-cutting legislative process, issues of legislative activity and public involvement during the state of emergency.

The visit was organized by the USAID Rada: Next Generation Program in cooperation with the Westminster Foundation for Democracy and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
