On April 6, 2026, the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine launched a specialized professional (certification) training program for members of the Ukrainian Parliament titled “French for Parliamentary Diplomacy.”

The educational program is aimed at developing basic communication skills in French for use in typical situations of parliamentary diplomacy, as well as in intercultural, interpersonal, and professional communication; to acquire practical skills for conducting a basic dialogue in formal and protocol settings (introductions, expressions of gratitude, invitations, brief statements of position, scheduling meetings) while adhering to basic lexical, grammatical, and phonetic norms to fulfill the representative functions of Ukrainian MPs
 at the international level.
The training will assist in improving proficiency in the French language as one of the official languages of international diplomacy and the Council of Europe, and will ensure its use as a tool for effective intercultural communication, the conduct of parliamentary diplomacy, and the performance of representative functions at
 the international arena.

The training is conducted by Tetiana  Segeda, Chief Consultant at the Training Center of the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
