On February 20, 2025, an expert discussion was held within the framework of the foresight study on the issue "Prospects for business development in Ukraine in the context of European integration", organized by the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with the participation of the Inter-Factional Parliamentary Union "Strategic Foresight of Ukraine".

The event brought together representatives of government, business, the scientific community, and civil society for a comprehensive analysis of the challenges and opportunities for business in Ukraine related to European integration processes.

The participants of the event were welcomed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniyenko, Co-Chairs of the Strategic Foresight of Ukraine MFU, Ukrainian MPs Oleksii Zhmerenetskyi and Viktoriia Podhorna, as well as the Head of the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Lesia Vaolevska. They stressed the importance of strategic forecasting for the effective implementation of reforms in entrepreneurship and the adaptation of the Ukrainian economy to the challenges of European integration.

The moderator of the event, Dmytro Starodub, Chief Scientific Consultant of the Foresight Sector of the Economic Development and Financial Policy Department of the Research Service, presented the main aspects of the foresight study, in particular, methodological approaches, as well as previously identified factors that will affect business development.

Participants had the opportunity to express their views on the main factors that will shape the future business environment in Ukraine. The economic, political, and social challenges, as well as the prospects, opened up by the European integration processes, were discussed. It was identified the main trends, as well as key uncertainties, that can significantly affect the business climate in the country.

The results of the expert discussion will be used for further work on the study.
