Abstract. The war with Russia requires Ukraine to make efforts aimed at transforming the security environment, which will allow the state to preserve sovereignty, territorial integrity, increase the security of borders and citizens, and ensure sustainable development. The review dossier examines models of the international treaties, agreements, and memoranda that regulate the obligations of states in the security sphere, in particular the issue of guaranteeing the integrity and territorial inviolability of the state by allies (partners) in the event of an armed attack. The attention is paid on the conceptual and categorical apparatus of such international documents, the forms of response to external threats, the scope of state obligations and the conditions for their compliance. Current international treaties are analyzed, including multilateral ones within the framework of state unions (in particular, the USA, Australia – with other countries), security agreements of Ukraine, as well as treaties that have lost their validity, but are important for Ukraine in causal and comparative aspects.
Key words: security guarantees, security treaties, security obligations, international treaties, agreements.
