Abstract. The overview dossier is devoted to the analysis of the legislative regulation of employment of foreign citizens and stateless persons in Ukraine. The study results of the national migration legislation provisions in terms of the procedure for issuing a D-04 visa for employment and a temporary residence permit are presented. The importance of having a work permit for foreign nationals and stateless persons in the context of ensuring the rights of labor migrants is clarified. Possible risks of illegal migration are identified and attention is paid to the need to introduce measures of preventing illegal labor migration.

Abstract. The overview dossier presents the results of the empirical base analysis regarding the number of war veterans, their need for employment, and also identifies certain problems of access to employment after the end of military service. The current state of legal support for the implementation of the right to work for veterans in Ukraine is analyzed. The main types of state aid, including benefits and guarantees, are characterized: grants for opening one's own business (veteran entrepreneurship); preferences for employers who create jobs for veterans; vouchers for professional training, retraining or advanced training; implementation of standards of workplaces for employment of veterans; guarantees of their employment.

The note contains the results of a study of the differences between the nature conservation objects «reserve» and «areas of special conservation value of the Emerald Network, which is being established pursuant to Article 4 of the Bern Convention». To this end, the legislation of foreign countries that have acceded to the Berne Convention and have sites included in the Emerald Network and/or Natura 2000 network on their territory was studied.

Abstract. The overview dossier is devoted to the issues of harmonization of Ukrainian labor legislation with the EU standards in the field of employment and labor. The peculiarities of the process of adaptation of legislation to the acquis communautaire and the importance of implementing the provisions of the EU directives on occupational safety and health are outlined. Proposals for improving Ukrainian legislation on employment, labor protection, social dialogue, and gender equality based on the conclusions of the fourth section of the European Commission's Report on Ukraine within the framework of the EU Enlargement Package by cluster: “Freedom of movement for workers” and “Social policy and employment” are summarized.

Abstract. In the parliamentary research, the state of national legislation regarding response to nuclear, chemical, radiation, and biological threats is disclosed, the algorithm of actions of state authorities in the event of CBRN threats (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Threats) is highlighted, international standards of response to nuclear, chemical, radiation, biological threats are characterized, including EU standards, as well as foreign experience of legal regulation of response to CBRN threats is given.

The experience of EU member states in responding to CBRN threats, in particular, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France, and Lithuania, is analysed.
