The Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has prepared a parliamentary study on the legal regulation of the prohibition of discrimination in Ukraine in the context of implementing the measures set out in the Rule of Law Roadmap.
The study provides a comprehensive overview of measures to improve anti-discrimination legislation, assesses their implementation, and outlines prospects for further legislative development, taking into account the EU acquis and international standards.
The prohibition of discrimination is identified as one of the key priorities of the Roadmap, encompassing efforts to combat racism, xenophobia, and hate speech, as well as to ensure the principles of equality and non-discrimination.
Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the current legal framework and the identification of areas for improvement, including the modernization of legal protection mechanisms, countering hate crimes, and the implementation of EU law.
