As part of the implementation of the partnership plan between the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the EU Global Project to Strengthen the Capacity of Parliaments "INTER PARES | Parliaments in Partnership" and to exchange experience on strengthening the role of parliament in the budget process, in particular the creation of the Parliamentary Budget Office in Ukraine, Olha Kosytsia, Head of the Financial Policy and Budget Legislation Sector of the Economic Development and Financial Policy Department of the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, took part in:
- the seminar "The role of parliament in the budget process", held on March 11–12, 2024 in Prague (Czech Republic). Representatives of 9 parliaments of EU Member States (Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Greece, Ireland, Hungary, Lithuania, Sweden), Norway and the European Parliament were involved in;
- the study visit to the Bundestag on the program of international parliamentary cooperation, took place on March 14–15, 2024 in Berlin (Germany). During the visit to the Bundestag, the delegation from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, headed by the MP Pavlo Frolov, had the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of the German Parliament, in particular with the Bundestag’s organizational and legal principles, the interaction between committees, the budget process in Germany, the activities of the Budget Committee and its subcommittee – Bundestag Audit Committee, and attended the plenary session.
