On 3 March 2026, an educational webinar entitled “EU Climate Policy: The European Green Deal” was held within the framework of cooperation between the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the INTER PARES project.

The event formed part of a broader series of training sessions dedicated to specific chapters of the EU acquis. It aimed to enhance understanding of the EU’s legislative framework in the field of climate policy and to examine current challenges and opportunities for Ukraine in the context of its European integration process.

The webinar was delivered by Gregor Erbach, Head of the Climate Action Research and Tracking Service at the European Parliamentary Research Service (EPRS), and Axel Grislin, Parliamentary Research Administrator at the Policy Department for Transformation, Innovation and Health of the European Parliament Secretariat.

The presentations provided a comprehensive overview of the EU climate policy framework. In particular, they addressed the EU’s climate targets for 2030, 2040 and 2050; the content and significance of Regulation (EU) 2021/1119 (the European Climate Law); the governance architecture of EU climate policy and the Energy Union; and the key elements of the “Fit for 55” legislative package. Special attention was given to enforcement mechanisms and financial instruments supporting climate action at the EU level.

We sincerely thank the INTER PARES project and the experts of the European Parliament for their professional cooperation and valuable expert support.
