To deepen knowledge about the oversight and control function of the Ukrainian Parliament, the Deputy Head of the Research Service Department for Humanitarian and Social Policy Iryna Humeniuk, as part of a delegation of the employees of secretariats of the Verkhovna Rada committees, took part in the training seminar "Post-legislative control as an effective tool for assessing legislation" (Uzhhorod).
The participants of the seminar got acquainted with the best practices of parliamentary control and modern methods of interaction between the government and parliament in foreign countries. A separate training module was devoted to: methods of post-legislative control; requirements for technical tasks and planning of monitoring stages of implementation and enforcement of laws’ effectiveness, and evaluation of data and facts obtained from the results of monitoring. Lectures were alternated with practical tasks.
The workshop was organized by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) with the support of the USAID Program RADA: Next Generation.
