On December 6, 2024, in the European Parliament in Brussels, a delegation of the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine took part in the seminar "Parliamentary Research and Libraries: Navigating and Supporting Change in a New Parliament", organised by the European Parliamentary Research Service (EPRS) and the European Centre for Parliamentary Research and Documentation (ECPRD).

Updating methods for promoting research services in line with changes in customer demands, the role of the research services in a fragmented parliament, obtaining and using quality feedback on existing products and services, rethinking products and services to respond to the new needs of legislators, innovative strategies for parliamentary library support, EU’s political priorities and strategic agenda 2024 –2029 have become the main topics of discussion of 34 parliamentary research divisions’ representatives of Europe and the worldwide.

At the invitation of the organisers, the Head of the Research Service Lesya Vaolevska and the Head of the Department of Economic Development and Financial Policy of the Research Service Anna Kondratova spoke at the seminar on “Modern Challenges – Reconsidered Approaches”, where they highlighted important aspects of the institution’s activity under martial law and promoting the work of the Ukrainian Parliament. During the event, the delegation of the Research Service also held meetings with representatives of research services of the parliaments of Belgium, Estonia, Greece, Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, the USA, and South Korea, during which they discussed the possibilities of inter-institutional cooperation.
